PIGEON FLYING
Two races were llown by the Dunedin Homing ihgeon Club last Saturday, the club 1960 championship ana a. hock race. Doth races weie down rrom i.-'aniassus. flying conditions wore good, and gooa velocities resulted. Six places are allotted in tuo championship race as follows:—C. Buxton’s Champion (1,155.7) 1, H. Millard's Sunart (,1,163.7) 2, J. Lynn’s Harrison duel (1,150.6) 3, G. Gore’s Lupin (1,150.0) 4, T. Douglas’s Inverheath (1,147.8) 5, J. Hardgrave’s Mam Sail (1,147.7) 6. The result of tho hock race (51 entries) was:—r<L Scoullar’s On Guard (1,154.2) 1, C. Buxton’s True Blue (1,154.1) 2, H. Millard’s Chance (1,163.0) 3, A. Stevenson’s Black Satin (1,151.17) 4, W. Hargreave’s Lady Mike (1,151.0) 5, J. Hardgrave’s Miss . Battler (1,145.3) 6. The Dune' 1 ■ Club was also success ful in winning the first nine places in the New Zealand Homing Federation's yeaning cb/'—Uonship. ■ This race was flown on November I over a distance of 250 miles. Eight clubs competed, and entered 92 birds. Messrs Cunningham, Stevenson, Buxton, and Tonks (in that order) take the four money prizes.
