OLYMPIC GAMES
AN EARLY RESPONSE The Organising Committee, of the Games of the Tenth Olympiad is greatly, pleased with the responses to its invitations to Olympic countries for them to participate in the coming jsorld event. ■ These invitations were sent out early this year, prior to the Olympic Congress in Berlin. The United States Government also sent out, through its Department of State, communications to the nations of the world calling attention to the invitations of the Organising Committee. A total of twenty-eight countries already have replied stating they would be represented in , the forthcoming Olympic Games. Others v through their delegates at the Olympic Congress in Berlin, informed representatives of the Organising Committee that they would send representative teams to Los Angeles in 1,932. This enthusiastic response, so far in advance of the Games, is looked upon by the Organising Committee as an indication that the Games for which they are making elaborate preparations will be the most successful ever held, as a continuation of the world-wide growth of olympism which was shown at Amsterdam. It is understood that no other nation in which past Olympic Games have been held has been advised so far in advance how many countries were preparing/to participate.
