PIGEON FLYING
The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew a flock race from < Parnassus on Saturday last, an air-line distance .of 281 miles to central lofts. Ihe station master liberated ninety-four birds from fourteen lofts in fine weather, and a good fast fly, with a very close finish, resulted, the winner’s time being 5h 50min. Six places were allotted in this race, and were filled as follow (velocities in yards per minute)H. Millard’s Sunart (1,410.7) 1, A. Steven, son’s Whizz Bang (1,410.6) 2, O. Coutts’s Playtime (1,409.3) 3, D. Cunningham’s Apex (1,408.4) 4, C. Pulton’s Flying Princess (1,406.3) 5, C. Gore’s Bon Boy (1,406.-) 6.
