MARRIED WOMAN’S DEATH. The police were informed this afternoon that Mrs Braid (Christian name unknown as yet) luui died suddenly at Brighton this morning. Neighbours state that the deceased had been subject to heart attacks' When she was visiting a neighbour this morning she had a bad turn, and died after being taken to he? house She was fortynine years of age, and resided with her husband.
The present craze of reporters of tlio two local newspapers is miniature golf. Between 11 o’clock and midnight last night, the reporters held a party at the Savoy links, and participants in the ‘ Star ’ tournament (which is now in progress) with plenty of time at their disposal, welcomed the opportunity _ of getting in a little practice at putting while the high scores did not count against them. The party was attended by about a dozen reporters and lady friends, and a most enjoyable hour was spem, in friendly foursomes and other games.
