MEETING OF COMMITTEE The cliaii’jnan (Mr T. A. Blown) presided over a lull attendance at the monthly committee meeting on Monday evening. Arrangements for the annual choir concert were completed. The purchase of a lawn mower, to he reserved for use on the cricket pitch, was reported. It was decided to authorise the erection of a suitable cupboard for storing drums and bugles at aai estimated cost of £7. The school was represented by three football teams, one hoys’ hockey team, one girls’ hockey team, and a basket hall team. Both the A and 13 bantam football teams put np good performances, each finishing the season with ton matches won, one lost, and two drawn, and each being second in its competition. The captain of the bantams, W. Lipport, also gained representative honours. One member of the basket ball team gained representative honours. The hoys’ hockey team had a very successful season, finishing as runners-up, with six matches won, two lost, and one drawn. Five of the team gained representative honours, and a trio to Christchurch to compete for the Hatch Cup. The committee_extended to the head master and staff its appreciation of the keen interest taken in the sports activities of the school. Arrangements for the annual choir picnic were left in the hands of tho head master and choir conductor. The treasurer reported the net proceeds from the recent scholars’ concert as totalling £l7 18s 3d. The annual school sports meeting was postnonod until the new year.
