CRIPPLE ATTACKED

DARING STREET ROBBERY £SO SECURED [Pbh United Farsi Association.] WELLINGTON. October 13. Struck from behind and knocked over, a crippled shopkeeper on his way home just before 11 o’clock on Saturday night was the victim of a daring robbery. The dimly lit and almost deserted section of Abel Smith street, between Cuba and Taranaki streets, was the scene of the assault, and tho robber escaped with about £6O in cash which had been contained in a small bag which the cripple was carrying. A man and his wife sitting in a motor car some distance away saw tho whole episode, and tho man went to the cripple’s assistance. Through attending to him, however, he gave the thief the opportunity of a clean getaway. ' Tho cripple said that ho had been taking tho money home in precisely the same way for twenty-two, years.
