The meeting of the Port Chalmers School Committee was attended by the Rev. W. M. Grant (chairman). Dr Edgar, Messrs TV. Thompson, J. Moigan, TV. J. Johnstone, and W. D. Sutherland. The head master reported that during the term the school had been visited by Mr A. Combs (Director of Physical Education). Mr Lambourne (a departmental officer), and Mr T. B. Strong (Director of Education), all of whom expressed approval of the work being done. The question of giving prizes at the annual break-up was discussed. and it was agreed to give prizes as usual. The head master reported that the roll number was 365, ami. while it was better than the previous term, he hoped to see it greatly increased in tho near future. Cricket material had been purchased. The stall was looking forward to the remodelling of the infant room, which would be a great boon to the infant mistress. The whole of the work in the school was progressing smoothly, while the school magazine was looked for anxiously by the scholars. The Rev. W. M. Grant and Mr J. Morgan were appointed a visiting committee for the month.
