THE SHARE MARKET DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. No sales were reported or recorded on the Stock Exchange this morning. Dank of New South Wales had buyers at £3O, without sellers. This is the first occasion for some days that there has been no selling quotation for the stock. Bank of New Zealands wore inquired for at £2 15s, with sellers, at £2 16s. Union Banks bad a buyer at £9 15s, sellers asking £lO 2s 6d, Crystal Ices were steady with buyers at £1 Is, and sellers not prepared to quit under £1 3s. For Kildares buyers improved thenquote to Is 3d, with sellers at Is ltd. These shares are now paid up to 2s, with no liability thereon, and with the return of 2280 z the company’s . prospects have improved considerably. Okaritos had buyers at 7s, with no seller under 7s 6d. Another wash-up in this company is expected in the next few days. There was the usual strong demand for 4£. per cent, free of tax ■ bonds, with no sellers quoting.

Ax, the wool sales tho offerings were 11,543 bales, of which 5.765 were sold, while 5,231 were disposed of privately Ail wools showing quality mot with a good demand, and sold at late rates. Faulty and broad-fibred were practically neglected, requiring heavy withdrawals. Greasy merino made 16id. SKELTON, FROSTICK, AND CO. [Pr.u United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 17. Tho annual report of Skelton, Frostick, and Co., Ltd., boot manufacturers, states that the profit and loss account shows an adverse balance Of £9,477, which includes a loss of £3,877 carried forward. The volume of business during tho year was less. This was due to the depression, The directors have decided to close the Wellington branch and to close d6wn tho indent department. They recommend that ordinary capital of £30,362 10s, representing 12,145 fully-paid shares of £2 10s each, be written down by £1 10s to £l. Tho directors also ask the preference shareholders to forego dividends of which there is an accumulation of £5,000 unpaid to March 31, 1931. DUNEDIN STABR-BOWKETT SOCIETY. A meeting of shareholders of the Dunedin Starr-Bowkett Building Society was hold in the Oddfellows Hall, Stuart street, last night. Mr S. Smith occupied the chair. The 120th appi’opriation of £SOO in the No. 4 group was balloted for, cluster No. 398 being drawn, held by one shareholder. The sixty-eighth appropriation of £SOO in No. 5 group was disposed of by ballot, and was drawn bv duster No. 356, hold by one shareholder. The forty-first appropriation in No. 6 group was also disposed ol by ballot, and was drawn by cluster No. 170, held by pne shareholder.

SALE OP STUD JERSEYS. [Per United Press Association.] HAMILTON, September 17. Tho national Jersey bull sale opened to-day with an average of 44gs for seveny-one head sold. Tho top price was paid for Waipiko Love Boy, on account of Mr C. G. C. Dermer, 1* iglding, by Mr A. Crowther, Matamata. Waipiko Caravel, on account of tho same vendor, was purchased by Mr J. B. Aickcn, Pukekohe, for 235g5, and 170 gs was paid for, Meadowvale Oxford Sultan, by Mr C. Stevens, Whangarei. Mr S. Irwin Crookes, Whangarei, secured the four-year-old Santa Rosa Golden Chimes for 135 gs. War Bride Prince, on account of Mr H. Salway, Bell Block, changed hands at 102 gs, tho purchaser being Mr R. J. Botham, Te Aroha. The senior championship of the show was won by Mr J. A. Mitchell’s Santa Rosa Golden Chimes. Mr C. G. C.
