KAIKORAI BAND
ANNUAL MEETING The forty-ninth annual meeting of the Kaikorai Band was held in the band room last night. The chair was occupied by Mr R. M'Lean. I n moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, Mr D. T. Boyd congratulated the band on coming through such a strenuous year so successfully and showing a credit. The Chairman expressed regret that _ there had been suoli a big falling off_ in the takings at the performances given in the theatre during the water. The Secretary read correspondence from the North Island and South Island Bands’ Association on the subject of the suggested amalgamation of the two bodies. The meeting expressed regret that negotiations had not proceeded further and more satisfactorily, and on the suggestion of Mr W. Ibbotson it was decided that after an expression of opinion had been made by the members the matter be left with the secretary to act at the next meeting of the association. The President stressed the need of new uniforms, and was supported by Mr/ J II Walker. The speakers assured the members that They would bo forthcoming at no distant date. The Conductor (Mr T. J.
