THE SHARE MARKET DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. No business was transacted this morning, and no sales were reported. There were buyers of Bank of Ts;ew K.outh Wales at £3O, without a selling offer. Bank of New Zealands were wanted at £2 ISs 3d, but sellers were asking 9d more. Huddart. Parkers (ordinary issue) bad a buyer at £l, but sellers were not in evidence. Fov West-ports buyers offered £1 9s, but sellers remained at yesterday’s price of £1 10s 6d. The meat preserving section was untouched. Brewery shares were unwanted at the seller’s price of £2 9s 3d. A parcel of Dunedin Breweries offered at £1 6s met with no response. t There was the usual demand for Government Bonds and Stocks, the only selling quotations being £IOO 10s for 1938 4i per cent. Cheese, white and coloured, 745; market steady. RABBITSKIN SALE. The Dunedin Stock Agents and Woolbrokers’ Association report as follows : Fair-sized catalogues were ottered at yesterday’s sale. There were again orders in the market from oversea buyers, and the demand, particularly for winter bucks, was very keen. Reports from the London market are more cheerful than has been the case for some months, and this resulted in a fairly general improvement in prices to-day of 3d per lb. Winter docs did not show much change, and can he quoted very firm, whilst bucks were 3d to 5d dearer. Compared with the July dosing rates, good combing merinos were firm and unchanged; faulty, shabby lots, par to 5 per cent, decline; cross-bred, 7-} to 10 per cent, easier; slipes 10 per cent, easier.
