CORNWELL CUP. RULE 3 A short time ago controversy arose regarding tho resail of one of the Cornwell Cup races at Auckland under the indefinite rule 3. interpretation of this rule was sought from all channels, but still no clear definition could be produced by those responsible for the utihsation of the rule for the purpose of tho resail. At the local conference held last year it was again discussed. At its last meeting the Otago Association received a letter from the Cornwell Cup (N.Z.) Inter-Port Sailing Championship Committee, Auckland, conveying the remits adopted by its committee as sent forward from the last conference. , Rule 3 is added to by a clause (3a). reading as followsA boat shall bo deemed to be interfered with when its chance of wanning has been affected by the action of any person other than its crew or tho crew of any other competing boat in that contest duly complying with the rules, and the sailing committee mar. at its discretion, order a resail, if of the opinion that the interference affected the result of the race. All boats except boats not complying with rules to take part in resail.”
