Smithson entered a restaurant and looked down the menu card. “ Chicken soup,” ho ordered. Presently the soup was put before him, but with the first mouthful the waiter noticed that some thins was wrong. “Do you call this chicken soup ” asked Smithson angrily. “ Ye s *, sir,” replied tho waiter, “ that is chicken soup.” “ Put where’s tho cliickon?” asked the diner. “I sec none in this soup.” “ Quito so, sir," explained the waiter, “ and there is no dog in dog biscuit.”
