GUISEPPE FRANCESCO VERDI was born in 1813 at Le Roncoli, Italy, his parents being the Village Innkeepers, Verdi composed 27 operas, the first, “Oberto,” being produced in 1839, and the last, “Falstaff,” in 1893. It was “Rigoletto,” produced in 1851, that brought him his greatest fame, and is classed 'as the highest of his masterpieces.
