TO-NIGHT'S NEW ZEALAND PROGRAMMES From IYA at 7.40 Mr N. M. Richmond will give a further talk in his series of ‘ Problems of Capital and Labour.’ Mr Richmond will be pleased if listeners will communicate with him over any questions arising from the subject about which ho is talking. A very line concert programme lias been arranged by IYA Mr Elton Black, who has been on the professional stage for many years both as a humorist and . reducer, is directing a party o**Auckland artists that will include Miss Alice Bennetto. The “ Radiolites ” are sure to bo a welcome addition to lYA’s many novelty combinati-ns. The programme to be submitted is full of variety, con taining many humorous items. At 2YA there will bo a special wartime programme to commemorate the Battle of the Somme. The band of the Ist Battalion, Wellington Regiment, will play ‘To the Somme’ and ’ Namur/' ‘ Roses of Picardy,’ the relec tion ‘ A Good Time Coming ’ (which introduces a number of popular war-time songs). and the hymn ‘ Lead, Kindly Light/ which will bo played in memory of those who will never return. The Ly ric Quartet, with the assistance ol Mr Will M'Keon (an ox-digger), will provide the vocal and spoken j ortion of the programme. The quartet will sing two groups of war-time choruses and numerous solo and concerted numbers dealing with the late war. The Melodious Four will be the vocalists for 3YA’s programme, singing quartets, trios, duets, and solos. ‘ Dame Pardon ’ and ‘ Echo ’ will be the quartets. Farjeon’s 4 Lament ’ will be sung n a trio. There will be two duets, * A Bake and a Fairy Boat ’ and 4 Suit of Russet Brown.’ Recitations will he given by Mr Harold Shaw, and n instrumental programme will be provided by the Studio Octet, under Mr HaroH Beck. Silent day at 4YA.
