Mr A. T. M'lndoe presided at the fiftieth annual meeting of the New Zealand Clothing Factory Benefit Society. In moving the adoption of the balancesheet the chairman congratulated _ tho members on the success of the society, and said that at the end of tho first year the society had shown a credit of £3B. At the end of twenty-five years this had increased to £250, and now stood at £383. At the inception of the society and on various occasions tho late Mr Bendix Hallenstein had donated to the society sums amounting in all to £450. This sum had never been needed, and was in a separate account, bearing interest. The society provided for the services of a doctor, chemist, and dentist. The following office-bearers were re-elected:—President and treasurer, Mr A. T. M'lndoe; hon. sec. Miss M. Gramt; auditors—Messrs It. Willis and W. Hay; committees —Misses L. Adam, A Woodward, V. Dougherty, I*. Dougall, and E. Miller. The committee was accorded a vote of thanks on the motion of Miss Howatson.
