Despite the fact that both Pete Sarrou and Sammy Shack are Americans with established records in boxing, they have not met previously, and Saturday’s contest at the Drill Hall between this pair is likely to afford a direct contrast in styles, Shack being rather more of a defensive tighter than his countryman. Shack has fought some flue fights ui his career, and once held Dominick Petronoj one of America’s leading feathers, to a draw, also figuring in a bout with Pete Nebo, another talented fighter Shack once beat Johnny Curley, formerly feather-weight champion of England, and on his two previous appearances in Dunedin he outpointed Bobby Delaney, the Australian lightweight, and dropped a points' decision to Johnny Leckie, against whom he recently made-a good showing in Auckland. , Sarron’s meetings with Donovan were the sole topics of conversation a month or two back, and outside of those contests ho fought some fine lights, both in Australia and New Zealand.
