— FORESTERS The fortnightly meeting of Court Pride of the Leith was held at tho Foresters’ Hall, Albany street, when there was a splendid attendance of members, under the charge of the C.R., Bro. H. Brown. Tho meeting opened in mourning in memory of the late Bro. Maurice Brady, who had passed away after a long illness, and a motion of sympathy with the relatives was passed, all standing in silence for a lew moments. Letters of greetings and good wishes were read from several members far afield, ail congratulating the court on its great progress. An invitation was accepted from Court Pride of Green Island to its first meeting in July. The C.R. welcomed the visitors, and was replied to by Bro. G. A. Ridd on. behalf of Court Roxburgh. P.D.C.R. Bro. T, F. M'Natty gave a very fine and concise report oh the business transacted at tho recent Special meting cif. the. U.O. District. Arrangements were completed to entertain the juvenile branch attached to the court at next meeting, when tho court will open early. Five new members were admitted, and before the close of the meeting musical items were contributed by P.C.R.’s Bros. J. Bonfell, J, T. Haro, and Bro. S. B. Sinclair.

There was a good muster of officers and members at tho last meeting of Court Excelsior, when O.R. Bro. V. S. Connolly presided. Invitations were accepted from Courts Pride of Green Island and Enterprise for early visits. P.C.11. Bro. Melton, of Court Nil Dcaperandum, Auckland, was welcomed, and responded to the toast. Ono new member was admitted, and the nomination of a juvenile member was accepted. The D.C.R. (Bro. G. L. Walmsley) received tho congratulations of the court on his good work as chairman of the recent special meeting of tho district. Tho delegates reported on that meeting. It was announced that the Social Committee had decided to make a small charge for tho anniversary celebrations to bo held in the Embassy Salon, and that Smith’s Orchestra had been engaged. After the meeting closed the members of the juvenile branch. Court Excelsior Pride, wore admitted and welcomed by the C.R., who also congratulated tho Association football team on again winning tho tournament on June 3. ,

Atkinson informed the members that a social meeting would take place in the Gaiety Hall, when the recipient of the James Macfie scholarship prize (Bro'. E. R. Steele), of Court Star of Gore, would be presented with the prize, and all members were invited to bo present. W. G. lies presided. Tho now issue of tho quarterly guide was distributed, and showed that an interesting programme has been arranged for the quarter, A special committee was appointed to make arrangements for the twentytsixth anniversary of the lodge, when a reunion of past and present members is to be held. Reports were received from the S.J.W., Bro. B, J. Hilton, on the work and conduct of the juvenile temple. The item for the evening was young members’ night, and an interesting and enjoyable programme was carried out. The weekly meeting of the Hope of Caversham Lodge was held in the Baxter Hall, Bro. J. Rostieaux, C.T., presiding over a large attendance of members and visitors from Rescue, All Nations, and Hope of Dunedin Lodges, who.were given a cordial welcome. A vote of sympathy was passed to Sister Mason in her recent bereavement. Tho programme for the evening was in the Lands of the C.T.; the following members contributing towards the programme Sister Mrs Pauli (temperance item), Bro. E. J. lies (solo), Bro. Hilton (solo). Sister Steedman (solo), Sister Greig (recitation-), Bro. Cromarty (recitation), Bro. Restieaux (solo), Bro. W. A. lies (reading). A vote of thanks was accorded to tho visitors, and to tho entertainers, to which Bro. W. A, lies (Rescue), Bro. Cromarty (All Nations), and Sister Steedman (Hope of Dunedin) responded. The Ever Hopeful Temple held its weekly, meeting in tho Caversham School gymnasium, \ r .T. Sister M. Lockhart presiding (in tho absence of the C.T.) over a fair attendance of members and visitors. Sister Giles (superintendent) was in charge. Sister Giles welcomed tho visitors and tho Chief Templars .from the Rescue and Hopp of Caversham Lodges, to which Bro; W. G. lies (Rescue) and.. Bro. J. Restieaux (C.T. or Hope of Caversham) responded. Tho Star of tho South Juvenile Temple held the weekly mooting in the Oddfellows’ Hall, King Edward street. C. Bro. T. Brooks presiding over a large attendance ot members and visitors. Several members, contributed songs and recitations, which wore well received. Bro, James Hilton (superin-tendent)-was in charge. . The weekly meeting of the Sunshine Junior Lodge was held in the Church of Christ Sunday School Hall. Sister Meryl Hollis. Chief Templar, presiding over a _ good attendance of members and visitors from the Hopo of Caversham and Rescue Lodges. Tho silver seal degree was conferred on one member. Reports wore received from sick, visiting, and concert committees. After business were held, all present taking part. _ Items were given by Sister Billie Robinson (monologue) and Sister M. Peats (recitation), which wore well received. Tho meeting was in charge of Sister D. Sell (superintendent). The Hopo of Dunedin Lodge. No 155, 1.0.G.T.. held its weekly meeting in old St. John Ambulance rooms. Harrop street. Bro. 0. Williams presided over a fair attendance of members. Correspondence was received from Bro. Hodgkinson and G. See. Bro. Price. A favourable report was given,on Juvenile Temple. Bros.
