KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION

The monthly meeting of the council of the Dunedin" Free Kindergarten Association was held on Thursday afternoon in First Church classroom. The following members were present:—Mrs Phillips (in chair), Lady Allen, Mesdames Batliam, Callan, Ewing, Glendining, Halsted, Haggitt, Henderson, Jenkins, Mollison, Shand, Wright, and Miss Scott. . . Mrs Hutchison wrote asking ior leave of absence for six months from % the council, and also resigning her ppsi- \ tion as, vice-president. Members ex- . pressed' appreciation of the work -Mrs Hutchison had done for the kindergarten, and her resignation was received with regret and leave of absence : granted. The directors of all schools reported very favourably on the attendance for the month, and on the work being done. Miss Dutton reported that nine new students had commenced their course in kindergarten work. » Mrs Phillips asked members of. the council for assistance at a garden fete to be held at Lady Ferguson’s residence on March 15, in aid of the obstetrical chair endowment fund. Donations to a general stall, , such a* cakes, jams, and oddments, would be gratefully received. Representatives from the Coster Hal 1 Com ittee reported on the final arrangements for the ball.
