AFRICAN EXHIBITION
It was decided in August last that an international exhibition should be held at ’ Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1932-33, circumstances permitting, it has now unfortunately been found that various local conditions militate against the undertaking, and in consequence the Executive Committee has decided to postpone further consideration oi the matter for twelve months or so. Mr H. R. Spence, late secretary of the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition, was last March offered tentatively the position of adviser to the Central Executive Committee, and be is now informed as above, and further that the proposal is by no means abandoned, but merely for local reasons postponed, and that the Central Executive will remain in office ready for a rapid forward movement as soon as cir cumstances seem to warrant this action. The services of Mr Spence as adviser are still being retained tentatively in view of future exigencies.
