SPORTS AT BERWICK

The weather did not favour the annual athletic sports meeting held by the Berwick Caledonian Society at Berwick yesterday. The Domain grounds, which have previously been the scene of the ftxtunj, were in such a bad condition owing to the continued wet weather that the sports were held on a paddock owned by Mr Petrie. Conditions underfoot were naturally against fast times being registered in the running events. The most outstanding feature of the meeting was the strong support accorded the piping' and dancing sections, the number of entries received constituting a, record. Results: — 100 Yards Handicap.—J.
