WORKING UNDER WOMEN
MEN'S OBJECTION IMDiSHATION AT TEACHERS' CONFERENCE Praas Association— By Ttlagraph—Copyright, LONDON, January 1. (Received January 2, at 2 p.m.) Women teachers, assembled in conference at Canterbury, are highly indignant that there are men in their own profession who declare that they cannot work, under .women. Mrs F. Day, a member of tbp Central Council; asked why they 'should object. Prime Ministers worked under Queens, and public .servants to-day worked under Miss Bondfield (Minister of Labour). Solldiers followed Boadicea and Joan of. Arc. The conference passed a resolution that all avenues of promotion should be open to women equally with men. The ‘ Daily Express,’ in an editorial, supports the men. Few people, men or women, like working under a woman. The gift of using power and authority tactfully is rarely bestowed on women.
