PRIZE DAY AT SCHOOLS

MOSGIEL DISTRICT HIGH PRIMARY DEPARTMENT. Tho distribution of prizes in the primary department of the Mosgiel District JLtigli Scliool took place in the .school gardens on Thursday afternoon in the presence of a representative gathering of parents and friends, Mr H. Miller (chairman of the School Committee) presided, and was assisted m the distribution of prizes by Dr J. P. Shaw (Forms 1.-1 L), the Rev. JJayhss (Standards 111.-JV.), Commandant Lauunond (Standards 1—11.), and the Rev. A. L. Canter (infant department). Those present availed themselves of the opportunity of inspecting the school gardens and tho recently remodelled infant department. At tho conclusion of the ceremony the icetor thanked Mr 10. R. Drain (substituted assistant) and Miss I. Drown (probationer) for their work during the rear, and also Miss Jean Hendry lor her valuable help in preparing for the school concert. On behalf of the pupils and staff Mr Brain handed to each of these teachers tokens of regard and appreciation, with best wishes tor future success.
