The removal of the existing speed limit or twenty miles an hour, which has been largely disregarded in recent years, is expected to be accompanied by a tightening of the penalties for dangerous driving, including the suspension of a driver’s license for a second conviction. Other features are expected to include compulsory insurance against third party risks and limitation of the hours of drivers engaged in public motor services.
