RADIO BROADCASTING
TO-NIGHT'S NEW ZEALAND PROGRAMMES For tho first twenty minutes the stage at the Auckland Exhibition will bo occupied by Ingall’s Hawaiian Orchestra, the Basham-Briggs Duo, Mis* L. Solomon (soprano), and Mr A.. M‘Elwain (humourist). They will give place to tho Asquiths, who will present one of their drawing room entertainments, such as they broadcast from IYA. In tho next session Mr Eric Bell (pianist) will contribute two solos, which will be followed by a one-act play. Tho cast of characters will bo Mrs Culford Bell and Messrs Jack Gordon and Noel Vear. Then once more Ingall’s Hawaiians will take the stage again, also Mr A. M'Elwain. A first-class vaudeville programme will ho broadcast by 2YA. The Salon Studio Orchestra, under Mr Dixon, and tho Molodio Four will be heard in vocal and concerted numbers both grave and gay. Mrs Winifred Birch-Johnson will entertain with a comic song and » whistling solo, and Mr Will Wye (entertainer) will be heard in several humorous numbers. Mesdames Mildred Kenny and Mr Tonks will provide the novelty instrumental portion of the programme with a group of banjo duets.; From 10 a dance programme will be presented, and the usual sporting summary will be given at 10.45
There will be a variety programme at 3YA. Mr Hale, singer of popular songs, and Mr Alan Brown, well known, on the local theatrical stage as an elocutionary entertainer, will contribute, also Mr Geo. Titchener (humorist). Miss Millicent JenniiTgs will give a very interesting lecture-recital on ‘ Lullabies of Many Lands,’ illustrated with vocal and instrumental numbers by Miss Jennings, Miss. Dorothy Davies, Miss Irene Morris, and Mr Harold Beck. Also contributing to the programme will be the Joyous Pair, who will sing jazz songs at "the piano, with ukulele accompaniment.
3YA’s programme will bo relayed to 4YA. At approximately 9 o’clock 4YA will relay a description of the wrestling match Clarence Eklund versus Maracci Gardeni, by Mr J. A. Brown. The church sendee relays to-morrow evening will bo:— IYA, St. Matthew’s Church}' preacher. Canon C. H. Grant Co wen, 2YA, Vivian Street Baptist Church} preacher, Rev. F. E. Harry.3YA, St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church} preacher, Rev. W. Bower Black. 4YA,. St. Andrew Street Church Of Christ; preacher, Pastor W. D, More. The following is th programme for 4ZM to-morrow:—3 to 5: Selected records, including Schubert’s ‘ Quartette in D Minor’ (‘Death and the Maiden’), commencing at 4 p.m. 8 to 10: Selected records, commencing with Beethoven’s ‘Fifth Symphony.’
