THE CANCER CAMPAIGN
A well-attended meeting ot the General Committee of the Otago and Southland Division of the Cancer Campaign was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday afternoon, and various matters were discussed concerning the constitution of the division, its relation to the Central Council at Wellington, and the arrangements to be made for financing and otherwise assisting the research and clinical investigations so urgently called for. The mayoi was elected patron of the division, Sii Louis Barnett chairman of committee, and Dr E. F. D’Ath secretary and treasurer. A Research and Clinical Committee is to be elected by the medical members of the General Committee, and as the organisation of propaganda is to be one of their functions, it was decided to add to this committee the editors -of the ‘ Otago Daily Times ’ and the ‘ Evening Star.’ The following were elected as members of the Finance and Appeal Committee, a meeting of which is convened for next Monday at the University Club at 1 p.m.: The mayor, Sir Lindo Ferguson, Sir Louis Barnett, the Rev. W. Hewitson, and Messrs E. I. Halsted, Arthur Bmcett, C. W. Rattray P. R. Sargood, and C. B. Smith. The "ditors of the ‘ Otago Daily Times ’ and the e Evening Star ’ have kindly consented to receive and acknowledge donations to the cancer campaign, and donations can also be forwarded to Dr E. F. D’Ath (the hbn. secretary and treasurer), Medical School, Dunedin, or to Sir Louis Barnett (chairman of the General Committee), o/o Medical School,
