TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —During the last week or in the shopping area of South we have been in a perpetual dusb storm. Evidently those responsible! for our streets have not studied mod* era methods, and I doubt if the re* sidents of any other city in the workE would suffer such incompetence. Thai utter foolishness of scattering dusty, shingle on a hard surface is apparent to even the novice. The only thing that can happen to it is to be ground by the heavy 7 traffic, and subsequently, blown into the shops, damaging th<3 goods on the shelves and stands, iincß generally inconveniencing I>oth cus* tomers and shopkeepers. Also the una healthiness of the idiotic practice i;j apparent to anyone. _ If it were a( matter. of temporary inconvenience i f could be suffered, but it is the con* tinuance of the nuisance that is s<| exasperating.—l am, etc.', ‘ Fed on Dvst.
