HEW DIRECTOR ARRIVES Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, October 81. Father William O’Leary, of Ireland, arrived by the liner Naldera to-day to take the late Dr Pigot’s place as director and seismologist at Riverview Observatory. Father O’Leary stated that Australia was looked upon as one of the reallv important seismograph!c stations in the world, and headquarters at Strasbourg always looked for reports from Riverview, where the instruments were first-class. He added that as Australia was out of the Pacific coast zone there was no need to fear earthquakes.
