‘THE DESERT SONG ’
GOKTiHUEB SUCCESS The large and enthusiastic audience Which gathered in Hia Majesty’s Theatre last night demonstrated that ‘The Desert Song’ was still supreme in the fancy of the theatre-going public of Dunedin, One and all of the performers came in for their share of applause, and the comedy touches of Mr Herbert Mundin and Mias Renee Murphy were very acceptable. The dainty Romola Hansen captivated all with her natural charm and pleasing voice, and Lance Fairfax gaye a very fine portrayal of the Red Shadow. A number of the members of the company are making their first appearance in New Zealand, and they caix hardly help being impressed with the hearing they were given. A dainty ballet and ladies’ chorus and also a fine male chorus add greatly to the attractiveness of the performance. ‘The Desert Song’ will be presented again to-night, and finally to-morrow night, ‘ with, also, a matinee per-, fomance.
