After visiting Ottawa, where he was admitted as a Privy Councillor, Mr. MacDonald made the journey to Montreal. Here we see a section of this important Canadian city—the financial district. In the right foreground is the new building of the Bell Telephone Company on Beaver Hall Street. The skyscraper in the middle distance is the Royal Bank building on St. James Street. In the left background are the twin towers of Notre Dame Cathedral.
