“ Inquirer.”—The cleaning of furs, being highly skilled work, should not be lightly undertaken at home; If a fur is really dirty or greasy it should be sent to a furrier. To freshen a fur bran is the safest thing to use. Lay the fur fiat on a table, warm a quantity of new bran in a pan, stirring-con-stantly, rub it gently into tho fur with the hand. Leave it for half an hour, then shake the fur well and brush.
“ Crepe de Chine.” —A sponging with oxalic acid is very often effective; be sure to thoroughly rinse the article afterwards. One correspondent who had a frock ruined by the same cause washed the whole in petrol, and this proved effective. Wash celanese in warm soapy water. Make the suds by shredding and boiling the soap or by using lux.
