SOME ARTISTIC DECORATIONS
Ouo of the most luxurious homes in Du; sclin is nearing completion, it is for Mr G. J. .Barton, at St. Clair. The interior decorations have been conccmid on a particularly lavish scale, while an outstanding feature of the dwelling is the number of windows that have been provided for the admittance of ught. All thes; windows have been leaded and work Co out on a scheme which harks back to the Tudor period. Heraldic devices form the basis of the designs introduced 01 most of the windows. Very little colour is used, but the effect is most entrancing. The staircase window depicts an oldtimo sa.ilin.-_ ship in full rig.' This figure is treated on '-background of clear glass Die whole ' armonising with the rest oi the work. All these designs were cat 'eel out by Mr John Brock, who will also design the frieze for the drawing and musical room combined. This -will be decorated on historical lines, showing hunting scenes, etc., and will bo in keeping with the period represented bv the deadlights.
