RADIO BROADCASTING
TO-NIGHT'S NEW ZEALAND PROGRAMMES A splendid light programme at IYA will bo contributed to by Miss Hope Asher, who was such a great success as “ Lady Holyrood ” in tho recent production of ‘ Florodora : by the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society. She is making her first appearance at IYA. Other performers will bo Mr Fred Baker (baritone), Messrs Uric Bell and Jack Davey in vocal and piano novelties, and Mrs B. Jellard ( contralto). The Studio Orchestra will play popular selections and novelties. The programme will conclude with dance music. At 7.40 at 2YA Mr L. D. Haggitt
will give a talk on 1 Burbank’s Flower Experiments.’ The concert session will comprise vocal items by Miss Wono Talmvi (a young contralto singer of Otaki), solos and concerted numbers bv the Melodic Four, and- humorous sketches by Mr Cedric Gardener and Miss Madge Freeman. Mandola solos will be played by Mr Lad. Havwood, a performer who will be remembered for his enjoyable items in the past. i j novelty numbers, ‘ The Little Lead I Soldiers’ and ‘ Captain Goodridge.’ There will be a vaudeville type of programme at JYA, concluding with a dance music session. The Cathedral Male Quartet will be heard in solo and concerted work. The Joyous Pair will again appear “at the piano,” with ukulele obligato. Mr Noel Newson, the youthful entertainer who appeared some weeks ago, will--be heard, and Mr Geo. Titchcner will provide humorous numbers. JYA’s concert will be relaved to 4YA. " ■ TO-MORROW’S BROADCAST. From 3 to 5 o’clock 4ZM will give a recital of selected recordings, including Beethoven’s 4 Quartet No. 2 in G Major,’ which be played at 4 o’clock. Two hours in the evening will be taken up with further gramophone
items, when Mozart’s ‘ Jupiter Symphony in C ’ will be presented. The station closes at 10. The church services to be broadcast to-morrow evening will be :—IYA. Unitarian Church; preachers. Rev.
