(Received October 19, at 10.30 a.m.) The convict transport Lamartiniere is going to Guiana in November with a consignment of convicts to be incarcerated on Devil’s Island. Included among the convicts is a well-dressed villain, Mesterion, who was convicted of killing a diamond dealer and then soaking the body in petrol. The police found the body half buried. Mesterion’s wife declares that she will follow her husband into exile. There is speculation as to whether she will journey by the Lamartiniere.—Australian Press Association.
