MOSGIEL BAND CARNIVAL

Tlie last function in connection ■with th» Mosgiel Band Carnival took place last night, when the assistants and friends assembled at the Coronation Hall for a social. Dancing was the principal feature of the evening, and all appeared to enjoy themselves to the full. A picturesque grand march'was the opening item, the assistants appearing in fancy costumes worn at the carnival. The march was. led oft' by the mayor (Hr M'Lean) and the successful queen (Miss Allison Aitken). In the course of ih» evening the mayor acknowledged the work of all who had assisted during the carnival, making special reference to the secretary (Mr John tvilliamson). He harded Mr Williamson a gift in return for his services, and the latter acknowledged the gratitude of the bazaar promoters as betokened by the gift. A special vote of, thanks .was also passed to the mayor, who had acted as chairman of the executive.
