When ti.o Ministers provided interjections during Mr Lysnar’s lefereuces to the constitution of the meat and dairy control boards, the situation became particularly interesting in the House to-night Mi Lysnar traced the dominion’s economic difficulties to the fact that the producois were not getting sufficient capital and not enough for their produce Mi Wilford: What is the Meat Board doing? „ Mr Lysnar: Sitting on the necks of the fame- (Laughter.) They are getting nowhere. It is exactly the same with the Dairy Board. They are so constituted as not to reflect the opinion of the fanner. M: Wilford: If you altered the constitution o) the Meat Board, would it be better? “Yes. certainly,” retorted Mr Lysnar, who advocated putting out the comraercia. representatives, as he argued they should be replaced by representatives oi the stock owners.

Mi Nash Would you agree to the Government nominating them? Mr Lysnar emphatically rejected this suggestion, his opinion being that the Government should only have representation it it was financially interested. The" Government representatives on th© meat and dairy boards were responsible for their failure. Mr Wilford; Oh, 1 say! The Hon. G. W. Forbes (Minister of Agriculture); You want good business men on these boards

Mr Lysnar; I grant you that, but there are plenty of good business men among th© farmers. To have commercial interest on these boards is just the same as asking the Leader of the Labour Party to take a seat in the United Cabinet. (Laughter.) All Howard (fron the Labour benches): They would jump at it, brother. (Loud laughter.)
