PROHIBITION AGENTS ACTIVE LARGE NUMBER OF ARRESTS Presi Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, August 14. One hundred and fifty men and women, including the Mayor and chief of police at East Chicago, have been arrested by Prohibition agents, who raided scores of “ speakeasies ” along tlio lake front. Thirty girls, who were tending bars, mostly in their parents’ bootlegging operations, were arrested, and thousands of gallons of beer and alcohol were seized.—United Service.
