New South Wales retained the KukWindoyer Cup • by defeating New Zealand bv 3 b matches to 21. .1 ho New Zealanders' made a magnificent light in the singles, and their defeat was pnraafily due to Apperiey’s superb play against Morpeth. , The scores in the first round were: Dr Ross and H. Morrison, square; Jt. Apperley, 7 up on Sloam.Morpeth; A. L. Black, 2 up to S. A. Keane; 1. H. Horton, 6 up on C. Fawcett. In the second round Dr Ross ana Morrison were square, Apperley was I up on Sloan Morpeth, Black was 5 up on Keane, and Horton was 6 up on Fawcett. . . .. Windeyer, in presenting the cup to Eric Apperley, captain of the New South Wales team, said it was a pleasure to see such a galaxy of talent en gaged in the contest. It would undoubtedly do good to the sport, and the New Zealand representation Would help to bind the ties of friendship already made at Anzac. He trusted that in the near future Australian teams would visit New Zealand.

Apperley, in responding, complimented New Zealand and Victoria. Dr Ross said he appreciated the golfing ability of the New South Wales players. The New Zealand team had met sterling opponents, but they made a good light, and were satisfied. He extended a hearty invitation to Australian State teams to visit New Zealand. Personally, he was glad to find out that the fate of the match did not depend on his last putt.
