At ike monthly meeting of the Bruc» County Council yesterday Cr H. M. Driver was appointed the council’s representative on the District Highways Council for the ensuing year. • In referring to the death of Mr George Young, who was killed in a motor accident -at St. Leonards recently,'Mr H. B. Moller (mayor), at last night’s meeting of the West Harbour Council, said that the deceased had been a very energetic councillor at fine time, and that a message of sympathy would be sent to his relatives. Similar letters would also be sent to the relatives of the late Mi: .1, Miller, of Sawyers Bay, and tbo late Mr Duncan MTherson, of Ravensbourue. Mr Adam Wilson, manager of ilia Thames brunch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been appointed manager of the Gisborne branch. Mr Wilsonwill be succeeded at Thames by Mr J. S. Columb, manager of the bank's Whakatane branch.
