POLICE COURT

MONDAY, MAY 6. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) BREACH OF PROBATION. Charged with a breach of his proKntiou order, Gerald Cadinan Trill pleaded not guilty, and was remanded until to-morrow. MAINTENANCE. John Archer was charged with the disobedience of a maintenance order, the arrears amounting to £4O. He was sentenced to fourteen days’ imprisonment, to bo released on payment of £6. David Cree Richardson was proceeded against by his wife for separation, maintenance, and guardianship orders. He failed to appear, and alter hearing the evidence of the wife, who was represented by Mr B. S. Irwin, the orders asked for were made, maintenance being fixed at £2 per week. Austin Clark was charged with being £39 3s in arrears in respect to a maintenance order. Mr Trevor Holland said that the defendant had rung up stating that some money would be sent in, but so far it had not come, and he asked for an order. The defendant was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended as long as the defendant pays £5 forthwith, togetJher with the current order of 12s 6d a week and 7s fid a week off the arrears until they are paid.
