The first round of tbe Otago Club’s championship was played at Bahnacewen. Results; — Ross beat D. Irvine, 5 and 8. Henderson beat Spence, U and 8. Barnett won from Brasch by default Reed beat Shicl, 4 and 3. C. J. Irvine beat J G. Dick, 1 up. Wight beat Laidlnw, -I and 3. Colbeok beat Gibson, 4 and 2. Brown and J. Butcher play during the weclc. The first round of the Balmacewen Cup was also played. Results: — H. Henderson beat Brabant, 2 and 1. Ramsay • beat Aspinall, 4 and 3. Bowron beat Holme, 5 and 3Talinger beat Gibbs, 1 up. Edmond beat Wright, G and 5.
