Guppies proceeded against George Legg, who was ordered to pay £lO 14s forthwith, in default ten days’ imprisonment, the warrant to bo .suspended so long as lie pays 5s per week, the first pavment to bo made on April 2d. Harry Lobb and Thomas Ward proceeded against Sydney Crawford, claiming £5 Is 9d and £2 4s respectively.— His Worship said that he would not make an order, but would vary the judgment summons, making it payable at the rate of 5s per week, the first payment to bo made on April 2d. A MAINTENANCE CLAIM. The case in which Tvy Evelyn Merric claimed £IS 19s Gd front George Charles Kiekolin Merrie, for arrears of maintenance and the cost of the preparation' of a separation order, was amtin before the court, when evidence regarding cohabitation since the separation agreement was made was given by the defendant. He and his wife both wished to live together again, but his wife was afraid that by so doing she would lose her share in her mother’s business. Ho thought, after their visit to Hampden, that his wife was going to return to him, and he was quite ready to make a home for her. Evidence concerning the visit of his sou and Ids wife to Hampden, and the arranging for accommodation there, was given by Alfred Xickolin Merrie, defendant’s father, Charlton Cloghorn said that on the Monday morning. December 31, ho saw Mcrrio and his wife on the Hampden railway station, where they caught the night train for Dunedin. .Matilda Merrie, defendant’s mother, gave evidence regarding the visit to Hampden; and Margaret Hamilton, of Familton’s private boarding house, Hampden, testified as to the engaging of accommodation. Alexander Hamilton gave corroborative evidence. Ivy Lydia- Holmes stated that on Monday night of last week, when Merrio said ho was with Mrs Merrie, Airs Merrie was at her house till 10 o’clock. Plaintiff, in evidence, denied that she stayed the night at Hampden, but returned to Dunedin, arriving about S o’clock. (Proceeding.)
