SEARCHLIGHT AND FLOAT USED
RESCUE WORK BY CRUISER MEN Last evening the cruiser Dunedin, now berthed at the Rattray street wharf, was called up by the Police Department asking for a searchlight to burn to light up the flooded areas m the vicinity of Logan Park. This was done ; the light burning until about 2.30 in the morning. Jf a float on board the ship was of anv use to the department the H.M.B. Dunedin officials were willing to loan it. The float was therefore taken off the shi)), placed on a lo- y, and taken to the police station. Some thirty sailors accompanied the float, which was later used to rescue people from their houses.
