Clnisti InivcOi has been swept by a severe south-west rain storm, but no damage has been done, and all public services are operating. WAIPORI UNIMPAIRED At 10 o'clock this morning the city electrical engineer gave out the welcome news that Waipori was rill right, though 61 in of rain had been registered there for "the twenty-four hours. About 6ft of water was at that time going over the weir. That was not causing anxiety. At the time of the flood in 1917 nearly Ulit was running there, so there was a long way to go before trouble could occur. The dam was rising slowly.
