THIRTEEN STORIES FAIL

While their mother watched them fall, two little boys, Terence (aged 4i years) and Benjamin (aged 14- months), the sons of Mr Wilton Waldman, fell thirteen stories to death from the roof of the Hotel Surrey, in New York, a few weeks ago. The children were part heirs to the millions left by their grandfather, Mr Benjamin Guggenheim, who was drowned on the occasion of the wreck of the Titanic in 1912. Mrs Waldman is now in a sanatorium too ill to make anj connected statement. Mrs Waldman took the children on to thereof garden, which is enclosed by a fence. She is reported by the hotel manager to have said; “ I sat on the edge. The children were running all round the roof. I look Benjamin on my lap. Terence was jealous, and started pulling at him. He pulled Benjamin’s hand, and they fell off the roof. It was all over heforel knew what had happened. I don't remember anything clearly after that.” Thirteen stories below a painter was workinf. High above him Mrs Waldman hung over the hotel parapet with frenzied, outstretched arms. Then she turned and ran away screaming.
