Napiers report read:—Thirty-five calls were answered by the various sections of the brigade during the month, .seventeen being to tires in or on property, eight were rubbish or bush tires, one was a chimney bre, six were malicious, two automatic, and one justibable false alarm. Ihe newly arrived canvas hose appeared to be opening up in (piito a satisfactory manner, but as it bad not yet all been ni.paeKcd and tested, it was somewhat early to give a final report in the matter. 'Hie plant and equipment ol the brigade was in its usual good order, while the lire stations were in good condition. Five hundred and twenty miles Avcru covered h,v the St. John Ambulance motors, the petrol consumed being forty-five gallons. On»* hundred and fifteen gallons of motor spirit were used in addition to the ambulance supplies, and in that anus included thirty gallons supplied <o th* Tied Cross. 'flic report avus adopted. The amended plans of the ucav lire brigade station Avcre discussed at length in committee, and it av;is finally decided to send the, plans to the Local Bodies Loans Hoard, with the hope that they Avill meet Avith approval in order that, an early start may he made AVit** the building of the premises. ; HolloAving the monthly meeting, toe annual meeting of the board Avas held, Avhen Mr J. Wilson was re-elected a* chairman. On the motion of the Chairman, it Avas decided to [dace on record an appreciation of the valuable services to the board of Mr J. S Hislop, who AA'as a member since 1918. Appreciation Avas also expressed m connection Avith the Avork done by Superintendent Napier and the men c* the brigade.
