Dor ihe operatic programme at ID A. Cb rid church, this evening ‘Maritana has boon chosen. All the principal solos, duets, and choruses of this popular opera, will ho sung. ‘Maritana, apart from its merits, lias a great interest to New Zealanders from the fact that j’-art of it was composed in Hus rornlry during a visit here by Vincent Wallace. The ca.--t lor tDo studio presentation will lie:—Mantann, Miss Lillian Hanham. Lazanilo, .Miss Dulcie Mili-bell, Don Caesar. Mr .11. Blakely; Don Jose. Mr J. Graham Young. Supporting the vocalists in Hie presentation of ‘Maritana’ will be a number or miscellaneous items, comprising instrumental numbers by the Bohemian quintet, a violin duet by Miss Florence Miller and Miss Irene Morris, a pianoforte solo by Mr Frederick Page, and recitations by Miss Winifred Smith.
The programme at 4YA will include the song cycle ‘ Flora’s Holiday.’ Silent day at 2YA, Wellington.
