LICENSING COMMITTEE ELECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Notwithstanding that the truth, in the matter has been twice published, your correspondent “ Ratepayer ” reiterates a most incorrect assertion to the effect “ that thcre 4 was some agreement or arrangement between Mr Longworth and myself which led to the withdrawal of his nomination for the Dunedin South Licensing Committee,.” I say that “ Ratepayer’s ” statement is quite contrary to fact. T am prepared to deposit £lO with you, “ Ratepayer ” to do the same, and if “ Ratepayer ”< can produce proof ol his statement, my £lO to go to the unemployment fund;' if ho fails to do so, then his £lO to go to that fund. I think is is only fair to say that I do not in any way associate "Mr Longworth with the letters or statements of “ Ratepayer. '■ I trust “ Ratepayer’s ” deposit will he forthcoming, then ho call talk. If he tries to evade this straight issue. L leave it to the electors of Dunedin South. 1. am, etc., R, W. Mali.. March 18.
