ROSLYN-WAKARI CLUB FORMED
A meeting was held in the Salvation Army Hall, Roslyn, last evening for the purpose of forming an association football dub. Mr P. ll a mage presided over a fair attendance of young men. The Chairman said fifteen years had elapsed since an Association football dub existed in the district. There was an abundance of promising young men in the district to form a strong dub. Several enthusiasts had held a preliminary meeting, and the expressions of approval at that meeting had been very promising. The idea in forming a dub in Roslyn was to get the young men now playing football for other , clubs to confine their activities to their own district. If a club was formed it would be necessary to affiliate with tbo Otago Football Association without delay, as a team would have to be entered with the controlling body before Thursday. They could enter a second grade team and a third gra lo team later. On the motion of Mr W. Beveridge it was decided to form a chib, to bo known as tbo “ Roslyn-Wakari Association Football Club.” The following office-bearers were elected for the first year:—Patron, Mr R. S. pluck; president, Mr P. Ramage; secretary, Mr W. Beveridge; treasurer, Mr A. Roberts; committee — Messrs D. Harborne, D. Martin, A. Paterson, J. Leitch, C. Spence, P. Raipage, W. Beveridge, and A. Roberts; delegate ib Otago Football Association, Mr 11. Garrick; auditors — Messrs T. Graham and G. Scott; dub captain, Mr D. Harborne; deputycaptain, Mr A. Roberts. It was decided that the dub colours he white jerseys, blue trousers, and dark stockings. The opening practice will be field on Ellis Park on Saturday, March 23.
