“THE PICTURE OF HEALTH”
PREMIER'S ARDUOUS TOUR {.Special to the ‘ Stab.’] WELLINGTON. March 6. Looking the picture of good health, the Prime Minister returned to Wellington to-night from his triumphant visit to Napier and Gisborne. The trip was particularly arduous, involving six days of practically continuous travel, yet throughout Sir Joseph. Ward showed not tho slightest sign of fatigue, whereas other members of the party felt the strain at times, The visit, from every point of view, was a great triumph for the Prime 51 mister. “I have never felt better in my life.” said Sir Joseph, on his return to Wellington to-night. “ The _ trip, which is only the second occasion on which I have been able to get away from Wellington since assuming office, 1 was 'particularly interesting, notwithstanding tho strenuous nature of it. 1 was very much impressed by the magnificent receptions accorded mo everywhere, The visit w r as not a political one, and the manner in which I was received was, therefore, the more gratifying. I am satisfied from the expressions coming to hand from all ove- the country that there is a desire on the part of the bulk of the people that the new Government should have a fair. opportunity to put its ]k>licy into operation.”
