SPECIALS FOR FRUITGROWERS [Special io tub ‘ Star.’] WELLINGTON*. March o. Local weather forecasts for the Ca n • terbury harvesters have been greatly appreciated, and the Hon. H. Atmore (Minister in Charge of tho Department which controls the Meteorological Bureau) informs your _ correspondent that ho has arranged wdth Dr Kidson to send special forecasts by telegraph daily to postmasters in the fruitgrowing districts, comprising Hastings, Otago Central, Henderson, and Nelson. These will commence on March 11 and continue until mid-April, and they wml deal particularly with southerly gales or rain. These warnings will also be broadcast by radio at the request of the Fruitgrowers’ Association.
